How do I do what I do?
Preserving garden-fresh fruits began for me as a way to stretch my family’s budget, but soon I realized it was also preserving time and creating memories. This invaluable insight made me realize that many others wanted what I already had—seasons of time and memories with their families. This universal need for family unity motivates my daily operations. This is why my company revolves around our community and the families within it. Supporting our local agriculturalists by using their fruits for my jams, whenever possible, is the goal of every calendar season. If you do not see me at a homestead in Arcade, Boston, Collins, E. Concord, Freedom, Holland, Sardinia, Machias, or Varysburg, then you may catch me at any of these farms: Wielian Farms, Bittner-Singer Orchards, Hen Hawk Acres, Back Porch Produce, Schwab’s Farm, Olde Chautauqua Farms, or at one of these markets: East Aurora Farmers Market, Gentner Commission Market, Hamburg Farmers Market. If I cannot get local fruit, then I purchase from American soil, with the exception of fruits that do not grow in our region, like kiwi.
Why do I do it? For God, Family, and Freedom.
Each one of us, every day, has the choice to exercise our freedoms of joy, peace, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, patience, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Yet, our personal circumstances can, and usually do, affect these freedoms. My hope is that my products and social platforms encourage you to see that these freedoms are available to you through all seasons of life on Earth, during the good, the bad, and the ugly. Deuteronomy 31:6 states, “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” This is why, when you become part of my community, you will witness my walk with Christ through encouraging words and testimonies, as well as an opportunity to accept a free scripture bracelet online or in person. To further assist my efforts of reaching out to others in our community, I frequently donate to a variety of benefits in our local area and also split ten percent of all my proceeds between two local non-profit organizations and one national organization on a quarterly basis.
