New Planets bring their “other-worldly psychedelic party music” to Buffalo Iron Works on Thursday, May 2nd, joined by Strange Standard.
Described as “Talking Heads meets Gorillaz on safari,” New Planets blend psychedelic funk with experimental dance rhythms and powerful lyricism. The New York-based collective features a rotating cast of 7–8 musicians led by bassist/vocalist Angelo Paradiso, with Alicia Aubin, Cha Cha, Emmett Scott, Gabe Bandford, Jason Shegogue, and others rounding out the lineup.
The band released their debut album Blood Diamonds in October 2024, gaining airplay on SiriusXM’s Best of 2024 Bunny Radio. Members of New Planets have collaborated with acts like Donna the Buffalo, Big Mean Sound Machine, John Brown’s Body, and Mosaic Foundation.
Doors open at 7:00 pm, with the show starting at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the show. This event is 18+.
